The Falu Foundation initiated Silicon Barrio, a comprehensive Technology Telecommunication Initiative with the main objective of preparing community members for jobs using computer applications and other information technology.
Support Our WorkDr. Georgina Falú founded the Falu Foundation in 1988 and manages the Youth Technology program, Early Childhood/Pre-K programs, GED program and Heritage Research program.
Dr. Falú is a leader in technology education and economic development in New York's Latino and minority communities. She founded the Falu Foundation's technology center in Upper Manhattan and initiated Silicon Barrio, a comprehensive technology and telecommunications initiative focused on preparing community members for employment.
Dr. Falú gives computer and Internet seminars to professionals, seniors, children and families throughout the New York area.
Dr. Falú has more than 35 years of teaching experience in colleges and universities in Puerto Rico and the continental United States. Her academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, a diploma from Harvard Graduate School of Business, a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University, and a doctorate in Higher Education Finances from Columbia University.
Dr. Falú's work has included professional encounters, technology workshops, educational programs and employment-focused initiatives throughout the community.
